Icons on desktop for WD Drive Utilities and WD Security, with (surprise) an icon for WD Backup. Great, now WD Discovery shows the same thing it did when I first started my computer an hour ago. Restart Explorer and yup, there is my EasyStore. OK, off to the WD Drive utilities icon on my desktop and all 3 tests showed good results. Hmmm, I do have 'net working fine but after several failed attempts to get WD Backup to install I went back to Ecxplorer and tried the installer at F:\WD Software Offline Installers\For Windows\WD Backup (yes, I read that is for installing if there is no 'net). It would go to about 60% (eyeball guestimate) and then back to zero. Next was trying to install WD Backup, again under apps tab. Opened WD Discovery (after installing it per manual), then installed WD Drive Utilities from the apps tab. Windows did it’s routine of “installing/recognizing” The drive does show up fine in Explorer. Just bought an EasyStory 4TB and at first glance it seemed fine. I’ve tried multiple search strings to try and locate what I’m looking for without any luck.Sorry for the odd title, but problem seems too long to fit in there. The one back up was successful, it took about an hour, but there doesn’t seem to be an easy way to copy blocks of files in a native format for easy access. These aren’t the same as what I had on the drive to begin with, but at least I could do a backup. I went to the WD website and downloaded WD tools/utilities and the Acronis app. I don’t know how they could’ve been over written or deleted but I did something odd. When I went back to try and install the original set of utilities, I couldn’t find them again. I proceeded to copy files and folders to the easystore drive, delete them and then empty the recycle bin to free up disk space. I surmised some of the problem might be to the low disk space problem. I was unable to install the utility software that came with it. I bought the 5TB USB portable drive to clean up my hard drive and then continue the online backup. I had been copying folders folders from a Google account I want to shut down and hadn’t been paying attention. I noticed I was extremely low on disk space. I have multiple issues, most due to my user error.
